Abydoz has over 20 years designing and constructing wastewater treatment facilities for municipal wastewater and industrial wastewater. Through employing engineered wetlands for the treatment of wastewater Abydoz is able to provide expectational treatment efficiency, while keeping operational costs low.
Abydoz employs three main wetland layouts, Vertical Flow Wetlands, Horizontal Flow Wetlands, and Stormwater Wetlands.
Vertical Wetlands
Operate through the vertical flow of wastewater through the wetland. They provide a higher hydraulic capacity, and increased treatment for certiain contaminants.
Horizontal Wetlands
Provide a horizontal flow of wastewater across the wetland. Wastewater enters the wetland at the inlet and travels horizontally across the wetland to the outlet. Horizontal wetlands provide a longer flow path through the treatment matrix.
Stormwater Wetlands
designed based on Canadian experience of high variations in flow due to precipitation and spring melt events. Due to aging infrastructure that may contain leaks or combined sewers these variations are common in communities and difficult to quickly address. These beds allow the system to accept large variations in flow and maintain high treatment levels. They are often integrated into larger systems and also allow for mitigation of future climate change risks.
