Stephenville Sludge

Liquid Waste Treatment

The Abydoz Sludge treatment facility in Stephenville Newfoundland was commissioned in 2009-2010. It is designed to economically accept septic waste from the community, and de-water and treat the waste onsite with no chemicals.

Located on the Stephenville airport property, the sludge is deposited directly on the lined containment cells where it is de-watered. The sludge is stabilized and is similar to topsoil which can be used for a variety of land applications or as landfill cover.
