Process

Waste is transported to the landfill from regional communities. Waste is sorted during collection. A Materials Recovery Facility is responsible for further removing recyclable material from the waste. Solid waste is deposited on the sanitary landfill which is liner with an engineered geotextile liner system.

Leachate is collected from the landfill and fed to lagoons for the removal of Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). The final treatment will be through a horizontal flow wetland bed for biological and chemical reduction of contaminants.
